BLUE ZONE TRIPS
Did you know that the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica is one of the world’s five famed Blue Zones?
The term “Blue Zone” was coined by National Geographic author, Dan Buettner, in his book, “The Blue Zones: Lessons for Living Longer From the People Who've Lived the Longest.” The book lists a host of studies illustrating several places on the planet where there are more centenarians than other areas of the world.
There are certain characteristics that these places share, which he realized can be classified into nine categories, or the “Power 9” as he calls them. Visiting these places and ones like them (for there are likely similar, undiscovered places in this world) can be an enlightening experience for those interested in health and longevity.
